RESEARCH OVERVIEW

Manufacturing industries have various types of sensors and devices. These entities are heterogeneous and produce large amounts of data at a very high rate, requiring security, transparency, and immutability. It is very challenging to handle that massive amount of data. Further, offloading data to the cloud add latency in accessing the same in real-time, which necessitates the need to store data near the proximity of the end devices. Edge computing is a promising technology to address these challenges; however, the need for decision-making power along with data security, immutability, transparency, and decentralization motivates us to merge edge intelligence with blockchain.
